Four people have been arrested in connection with the murder of Maurice Batts who was found unconscious on his narrowboat two months ago.
Mr Batts, who lived on a boat in Banbury was discovered on September 28 and died 10 days later in the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
The four, all from Banbury, were arrested early today and taken to two police stations for questioning.
Det Chief Insp George Bain said: "They are being interviewed in connection with the murder of Mr Batts, and on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice."
Mr Bain confirmed the four were the two men aged 52 and 23, and two women aged 49 and 21, who were detained and bailed soon after Mr Batt's death.
Mr Bain said 20 detectives were involved in today's arrests and subsequent searches.
He said: "There had been reports that the trail had gone cold, but that is not so.
"I am still appealing for information and would like to speak to anyone who saw anything unusual in Southam Road, Banbury, either late on Thursday, September 27, or early on Friday, September 28."
