I'm a Celebrity finalist Jason Donovan is giving his hard-earned cash from the show to the Oxford Children's Hospital Campaign - and it could reach £200,000.

The soap star-turned-pop singer - most famous for hit single Especially For You - came third in the ITV show I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!

Every time viewers texted in a vote for the star, who lives with his family in Oxfordshire, 10p was allocated to Chox - his chosen charity.

The Australian-born star said he was delighted the money would go to Chox as he and his partner Angela have two children, Jemma, six, and Zac, five.

He said: "I really missed my family. Ange and I are lucky to have two healthy children, so it made me even more determined to stay in the jungle and help the sick children that will be treated by the new children's hospital at the John Radcliffe."

Alison Barnes, a spokesman for the campaign to raise £15m to build the new hospital on the site of the John Radcliffe, said: "When Peter Andr came third in the show, he was able to donate £200,000 to charity.

"We won't know until the new year precisely how much Jason has raised, but we would be delighted if it was that much."

The 38-year-old, who has a house in Uffington, near Wantage, was beaten to the King of the Jungle title by former Busted singer Matt Willis. Singer Myleene Klass came second.

Yesterday, after spending more than 20 days in the Australian jungle, the former Neighbours star and his family flew back to the UK in time for tonight's carol concert at Dorchester Abbey, in aid of the children's hospital. The event is expected to raise a further £50,000.

Alice Gosling, director of fundraising for the children's hospital, said: "We were totally thrilled to find out that Jason had chosen us as his charity and thank him warmly for thinking of us. Our new 106-bed hospital is opening in January.

"So far we have pledges or donations of nearly £13m of the £15m we need and Jason's contribution will take us a massive step closer to our final goal."

The new £30m hospital will provide routine and specialist services covering a wide area of the country, not just Oxfordshire, and will treat more than 65,000 children each year.

Caroline Compston, who is organising tonight's concert, said: "Jason is such a wonderful supporter of the children's hospital and we are looking forward to him reading at the concert, with Rory Bremner, Sue Lawley and Anne Atkins."
