SCHOOLS computer company RM has signed a £6m contract to manage the Information and Communications Technology for Islington Council's Building Schools for Future programme.

RM, which employs more that 1,000 people at Milton Park, near Abingdon, will work as part of a consortium with Balfour Beatty, which is building the new schools.

Terry Sweeney, chief executive of RM, said: "RM is establishing a very strong position as an ICT provider to the BSF programme, with 11 local authorities so far choosing us as their partner.

"Islington is the first BSF project we have closed since I was appointed chief executive designate. I want to reinforce RM's - and my - commitment to this important programme."
