Double celebration for award winners

Workers at a high-tech business in Grove were celebrating today after winning the two top honours at the Oxfordshire Business Awards.

ByBox, based at the Grove Technology Park, claimed the title Oxfordshire Business of the Year, while chief executive Stuart Miller was named Business Person of the Year.

The company runs electronic mail boxes which clients can access and ensure next day deliveries of any parcel or a range of stock, parts and equipment with clients including Coca Cola and the RAC.

It employs 30 people at its head office in Grove and scores more around the country and in France.

Other winners were Ross Elder, managing director of Summertown-based holiday property rental website Holiday Lettings who took the Young Business Person of the Year; Cowley-based builders merchant Buildbase which is the Large Business of the Year; Didcot-based housing association SOHA (Customer and Staff Care) and Woodstock's Blenheim Palace which topped the Hospitality and Leisure category.

Henley-based digital media firm Onelan was made the Small Business of the Year, while Woodstock-based building firm Ridge took the Property and Construction title and Milton Park-based Three Monkeys Communications claimed the Growing Business category.

The Sustainability award was won by Witney engineering firm Gifford while biotech company Oxford Catalysts took the Innovation category, Chipping Norton Lido claimed first prize for Charity and Community and Summertown-based design and communication agency One Ltd was the winner of the Creative award.

About 500 people attended the glittering awards ceremony held at the Four Pillars Hotel in Sandford last night.
