Green win
GREEN cleaning products company Ecover has asked an Oxford-based consultancy to help measure its environmental impact.
Best Foot Forward, run by Oxford green party leader Craig Simmons, will focus on the "ecological footprint" of three Ecover products - washing-up liquid, toilet cleaner and washing powder.
This includes the amount of carbon emitted in production and transport as well as overall environmental impact.
Mick Bremans, managing director of Ecover said: "We asked Best Foot Forward to measure the ecological footprint of three particular products as the chemistry and technology behind them is all different, using separate processes.
"We are aware that this is an evolving situation, so we needed a tool that gave us benchmarking for today and guidance for tomorrow."
Nicky Chambers, director of Best Foot Forward, added: "The results we produce will help Ecover in its aim of evolving sustainable, effective products for customers."
