BEACONSFIELD residents are waiting to discover the identities of their new district and town councillors, who will be decided at a by-election next week.

The seats became available at the end of last year following the resignation of long-standing Beaconsfield town and South Bucks District representative Lesley Mallinder and her fellow Liberal Democrat, town councillor Becky Linford-Jones.

The candidates vying for the Beaconsfield South seat on South Bucks District Council are current town councillor and Conservative candidate Ann Main (South Ward), Liberal Democrat Barbara Sadler, Labour candidate Anne Veart and town councillor Archibald Legg (South Ward) of the Beaconsfield Independent Electors Association (BIEA).

The full list of candidates for the two seats on the south ward of the town council is: Fiona Beckley (Ind), Kenneth Brown (BIEA), Steven Jones (Con), Phillip Lee (Con), Victoria Pender (Lib Dem), Barbara Sadler (Lib Dem), Stephen Smalley (BIEA) and Anne Veart (Lab).

The polling station next Thursday wiil be at the Royal British Legion Club, Candlemas Lane, Beaconsfield, between 8am and 9pm
